The Lash

Think you might be invulnerable to alcohol now that the obsession to drink has left you? Not so fast Baba Boy. It’s been 8,119 days since my last drink and at a party recently I found myself handling and holding some of my friends’ drinks. There were bottles of beer and glasses of wine and mixed drinks that I held onto for several minutes at a time. For the first time in 194,855 hours I was within few inches of taking a sip.  It wasn’t premeditated but I have always thought that the lash of alcohol was beyond its power over me.

  1. OMG how could you have let that happen. Did you think you were beyond temptation?

  3. When a friend is witness to this "playing with fire", what is the best way to step in, stand up or diffuse the situation? (of course, putting you in that position in the 1st place is not right...) 8119 is a lot of success. You don't want to start over.

  4. I think you need to recalculate the days. I don't think that you took into account the extra day in the leap years.
Can you do a statistical analysis on the likelihood that if you have a drink that would once again abuse alcohol?

Seriously, you were a different person then. You have a new girlfriend....your writing (and also spin).
Don't allow your consciousness to dwell on this any longer. That chapter is long over. Concentrate on your new chapter that is about to begin.....

  5. I have the days right I put my sober date in and there is a new "app" that after you put your sober date in it spits out Years (in hundredths) days hours and minutes. It also has a revised copy of the Big Book on it as well.
Friends only know what you tell them and the full responsibility lies with me and me only. Earthlings do not know anything except maybe take the car keys from a friend who is drunk. That is as far as their training has taken them.
